Transparency and integrity

Warrant Canary

A signed statement, renewed every month: this site is not subject to any secret constraint, and nothing has been concealed.

What is it?

In some countries, a company can be ordered to hand over data and forbidden from saying so. It cannot warn you. Nothing, however, requires it to continue stating the opposite.

A Warrant Canary is a monthly signed statement asserting that no secret order, confidential request or compromise has been concealed. If that statement stops being renewed or disappears, the silence itself becomes a signal.

Statement published

The raw statement, its date and fingerprint appear below. Its signature must be checked against the announced public keys.

What this does not say

The presence of a statement does not, by itself, prove that no incident occurred. It creates a public, verifiable appointment: its absence, removal or failure to be renewed should be treated as a signal, not as an automatic conclusion.
